This family was one of the very first families I ever photographed.
I was 18 years old, just weeks away from graduating high school, when they graciously trusted me with their family photos. I was still learning the craft, but opportunities like that planted the seeds of what would become a lifelong love for photography, not just for the photos themselves, but for getting to know the people in them. Over ten years later, I had the privilege of photographing them again. Just two weeks before I got married and moved to a new country, we met in the hills where they had raised their family and created so many memories together. It was our third portrait session over the years, but this one carried special significance. Within weeks, they would pack up their home and begin a new chapter across the ocean. We were both moving to new places. It was an honor to preserve these moments before such a major transition, to capture a family in a place that had shaped so much of their story, just before they turned the page to the next one.

Tiffany brings encouragement and care to everyone she meets. The bright greens and yellows of spring were a perfect background to highlight her own brightness.
One of the most special things about being a photographer is seeing the genuine trust and care that two people have for one another. Míša and Barča are that kind of safe space for each other. Their wedding day reflected that beautifully. Here are a few favorites from the moments when we slipped out of the reception to capture a few portraits at the nearby chateau (zámek) gardens.
You know how some people exude joy and a kind of warmth that makes everyone around feel welcomed? That's how Eliška and Kryštof are. Their wedding was a celebration from the beginning to the end of the day, and it couldn't have been a happier day. Congratulations, you two! It may have been a chilly day in the mountains, but that didn't stop this sweet couple from having the warmest of celebrations! They braved the cold and had their ceremony outside, with specks of snow still clinging to the grass. What a precious day! Congratulations, Veronika and Adam! A light breeze in April and the city in bloom. These two bring so much joy to life and make such a great pair! They got married during the pandemic but that hasn't stopped them from leaning into life and enjoying adventures together. Happy Anniversary, you two!
We ventured out into the hills for golden hour and this sunny evening was filled with all that's wonderful about October. Also, this family was the sweetest. We first met in elementary school and hadn't seen each other since. I love these kinds of reconnections!
What can I say? This wedding was one for the books. I know we are not supposed to have favorites as wedding photographers, but I think this wedding was one of my favorites ever. :) There were so many precious, heartfelt moments throughout the day, and the love that the bride and groom had for each other and for their friends and families was beautiful. Due to unprecedented Covid circumstances, their wedding looked different than they first imagined, but it turned out perfect in every way. |
